    On this day the largest and most notorious concentration camp was established. This camp was responsible for the deaths of thousands of people during the holocaust and was one of the worst labor camps ever created.

    SS Begins Gassing Operations at Treblinka.
    The SS on this date starts to use poisonous gas to kill people at the Treblinka killing center. An estimated 925,000 people including Jews, Gypsies, etc. were killed using this method. This is important because this gave way to other camps using poisonous gas to kill as well. This gas is so lethal that it was later banned by all countries of the U.N. to never use in war again.

    On this day the SS and other German police implement Operation Harvest Festival. This is the murder of Jewish laborers in concentration and in labor camps that are showing signs of rebellion.To prevent riots and Jewish resistance the Jews in these camps were taken to a ditch and shot to death. The killing at the concentration camp Majdanek was the largest single day massacre during the Nazi regime.

    On this day U.S., British, and Canadian troops land on the beach of Normandy under operation "Overload". The Allies fooled the Germans into thinking they were attacking more North so the German forces around Normandy were minimal. Due to the fact the Germans were slow to reinforce the Normandy defenses,the Allies conquered the beach and began liberating France. This is the start of the fall of the Nazi regime and the ending of the Holocaust.

    This is the day where Hitler commits suicide in his bunker. This is the official end of the Nazi regime and the end of the Holocaust.Jewish people and many others can now live in peace because the Holocaust has ended.
