Book Burning
On May 10 university students burned up to 25,000 books, but it wasn't just any books it was un-German books in Berlin Opera Square. University students in college towns across Germany burned thousands of books they considered to be “un-German." One of the authors named Helen Keller books was burned, an American whose belief in social justice encouraged her to champion disabled persons, pacifism, improved conditions for industrial workers, and women's voting rights. -

Jesse Owens Competes in Olympic Games
There was eighteen black African Americans that dominated in the Olympics. Everyone who were in the Olympics won 14 medals. The continuing social and economic discrimination black athletes faced after returning to the United States emphasized the irony of their victory in racist Germany. -
