    The declaration of independence is a document in which the government signed that said that they are now America and they have their own government. This was made because the colonies were sick of not being their own government and they didn’t want Britain to control their government anymore.     At night Washington takes his troops across the Delaware river to go to New York to go to Saratoga even though they thought Britain wasn’t going to find them the immediately set up camp and got ready to fight.

    Washington and his troop were running from the British and they ended up catching up to them in Saratoga where the English and British had a war. This happened during a war. After this the colonists were very happy because they were happy because they won a very important war.
