    It is a U.S labor law that outlaws discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. It allowed woman and African Americans their right to vote.

    The Selma to Montgomery marches were three protest marches held in 1965. The marches were held along a 54 mile stretch of highway.
  • Watts Riot

    The riots started on August 11 and ended on August 16. These riots started because there was talk of police brutality on an African American motorist.

    It was a political movement that had a goal of achieving black empowerment. The motivation was to improve African American's social class.

    Martin Luther King Jr. was staying in room 306 at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. His killer was James Earl Ray.
