    The creation of the first Ipod allowed people to download music from the Internet and it helped Artists to become more well known.

  • RIAA Lawsuit

    The RIAA file their first Lawsuits against individuals illegally downloading Music from the Internet

  • Creation of Youtube

    Youtube was created in 2005 by Steve Chen, Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim. This enabled Atists to place their videos on Youtube so they were more in the public eye and it was a good way to advertise themselves.

  • RIAA

    RIAA issued Youtube with cease-and-desist letters to prevent single users from sharing as they were the property of the music labels.

  • MTV changes

    MTV drops the Musical Television tagline and aired more reality television and other non scripted shows.
