First Computer!!
This year was the first that my household had a computer and we were able to use the dial up internet. This was the birth of curiosity and instant gratification. -
Khan Academy Created
Khan Academy was founded and started creating online tools to use for mathematics and such. This was significant to me because in my 10th grade math class, around 2009, we used Khan Academy to help understand concepts and it was new and engaging.

Facebook Account was created.
This year I created my first facebook account. I use facebook to communicate with family and friends who have moved away since high school and college. One of my friends moved to Germany and I am still able to communicate with him due to having access to facebook. image source -
Carnegie Learning Released
During my 10th grade Math class, Carnegie Learning developed some online material that was self paced and took over my classroom. We focused on this program for the majority of the year. I still cringe when someone says "Carnegie" Image Source -
Imagine Math First Year Teaching
During my first year teaching I was introduced to the bane of my existence. Imagine Math. This program is self paced where the AI learns what the student needs. We were forced to use this in our class for 90 min/week, and students were required to pass 2 lessons/week. As time went on and students started passing lessons the program started to move lessons out of order and caused students to start hitting walls.
