The Wurundjeri Balluk People occupied the land many years before any European had settled on their land. -

John Dight purchased block 88.
He bought 26 acres for 481 pounds. -
The first Steam powered flour mill.
John Dight created the first steam powered flour mill just of of the Yarra River. John used the river to power his flour mill. -
The flour mill was sold.
The Dight family sold the flour mill to the Ternary family. -
A timber structure was built in the river.
A timber structure was built in the river to provide water for the steam powered flour mill. -
The flour mill was destroyed by fire.
Short after the Trennery family bought the flour mill it caught fire and burnt down. -
Part of the timber weir broke.
The timber weir broke due to the flood near the river. -
Reconstruction on the broken weir.
Due to the timber weir breaking in the flood, reconstruction started on the river. -
Rock weir was built.
The rock weir was built with 1.5 tonnes of rocks from the edge of the weir downstream. -
Permit asked for to replace the weir.
Melbourne water asked the heritage act to replace the weir and to construct a fishway. -
Application approved for the new fishway.
Melbourne water submitted an application Heritage to seek a permit to build a fishway, in 1995.
