    CompuServe was founded in 1969. It was the first major commercial online service provider in the United States. It dominated the field during the 1980s and remained a major influence through the mid-1990s. Also based out of Columbus, Ohio

    It allowed users to connect to a software and have them download and upload files between each other.

  • American Online or AOL

    Based out of New York AOL became the biggest online provider and even buys CompuServe down the road. Had the first email games on the server

  • A lot of sites coming in th 95

    A lot of other sites traditional social sites or not. Like Yahoo, Amazon, and sites like Asian Avenue and Black Planet.

  • Classmates.com

    A social media site created in 1995. That helped people find old class mates from graduating and such.

  • Friendster

    Was the Myspace before Myspace. It was created in 2002 and was very revolutionary for its time.

  • Myspace

    The OG of the social sites. It changed the game on how Social Media became how is today.

  • The rest of modern Social Media.

    Now with all of the sites like Facebook, Twitter, Insta, everything. there are new social sites everyday/month/year.
