  • 1830's

    A Pinhole Camera was invented- Due to optical laws, the light coming through a tiny hole in the camera transforms and creates an image on the surface that it meets.
  • 1900

    Kodak Brownie was invented- Was the first commercial camera. It only took black and white photos and was inexpensive.
  • 1907

    The Autochrome plate is introduced- Became the first commercially successful colour photography product.
  • 1908

    Kinemacolour- A two-colour process known as the first commercial "natural colour".
  • 1912

    Vest pocket Kodak made- Used 127 film.
  • 1932

    "Flowers and Trees"- The first full colour cartoon, in technicolour by Disney
  • 1932

    Kodak introduced the first 8mm motion picture film, camera, and projectors
  • 1959

    Nikon F was introduced
  • 1959

    The Optima- AGFA introduces the first fully automatic camera
  • 1963

    Kodak introduces Instamatic
  • 1976

    Steady cam becomes available
