    Also known as musical shorts these can be traced as some of the earliest examples of sound films. These videos were based around music themes such as opera vs jazz before some of the first animations were made. Vitaphones used to film these shorts were created by Warner Bros with only 2000 being made, this form of short film was how many famous actors and dancers of the time made themselves famous.

    The song was widely believed to be concerned with a gay relationship, the narrator informing his boyfriend not to worry about the girl he's with because he's "only dancing" with her. It was extremely popular at the time as it was believed to be quite controversial. The single was not released in America, being judged too risqué by RCA and did not officially appear stateside until it was finally issued on the compilation Changesonebowie in 1976.

    MTV was the first of its kind when it came to music videos, the TV program allowed new music videos to be show to everyone for free whilst also making them more popular. This was the first real time that music videos were being considered as a way to watch the music. The original aim of the show was to show people guided music videos with the channel being aimed at adults and teenagers but as the years have gone on the show has become more suited to younger children.

The website allows you to create channels which people can subscribe to and show feedback on the videos by liking and disliking the videos as well as commenting. This site has really helped make music videos more popular as people can easily watch them for free as well as helping to boost the popularity of the artist creating them which overall helps to promote the new kinds of music videos.

    Single Ladies was from Beyoncé's third studio album. Several news media sources named it as one of the best songs of 2008, while some considered it one of the best songs of the decade due to its iconic themes. The music video was filmed in black and white and won several awards including video of the year at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. The songs lyrics were classed as iconic due to its themes which had not been brought to light in this way before in other songs.

    "Hurricane" was awarded Best Single at the Kerrang! Awards 2011. The thirteen-minute music video, directed by Leto under the pseudonym Bartholomew Cubbins, garnered controversy when it first premiered on November 29, 2010, causing it to be banned by MTV due to containing sexual content. An edited version, however, was put on heavy rotation on MTV2. The video was censored and banned because of its elements of violence, nudity and sex in an almost pornographic context. It's certificate is 18+.
