    LACO is founded by Illmar Lagzdins
    LACO Associates was founded as a private engineering practice by Ilmars Lagzdins and Guy Conversano. The office consisted of six people at inception. Illmar’s orgins are from Latvia and his engineering degree came from a university in Germany. His focus was primarily subdivisions, sanitary sewer design, surveying and structural engineering in the Trinidad and Blue Lake area.

    From Partnership to Corporation
    In 1985 company founders Ilmar Lazgston and Guy Conversano transitioned the business from a partnership to a California corporation, formalizing the company name LACO, a combination of letters from the founders’ names. “LA” comes from Ilmar Lazgston; “CO” comes from Guy Conversano (pictured at left).

  • New Office/Relocation

    In the year 2000, with approximately 10 employees, LACO moved from J Street to the new 4th street office location that is remains to this day as LACO's headquarters.
  • LACO Office Expansion

    In 2006, to provide space for approximately 35 employees
    LACO expanded into the portion of the building previously occupied by Harley Davidson.
