    10,000 years ago. People began domesticating crops and were educated on how, when, and where to plant certain crops so gathering and foraging decreased.

    17th century the potato is the first crop to be mass grown in plantation-like conditions

  • first cattle ranch

    1658 in United States. This was the first cattle ranch owned and operated in the United States.
