Hewlett-Packard is Founded. David Packard and Bill Hewlett found Hewlett-Packard in a Palo Alto, California garage. Their first product was the HP 200A Audio Oscillator, which rapidly becomes a popular piece of test equipment for engineers. I picked this because it was a big break through. I thought it was interesting that he started in his garage and it bacame a big hit.

Who was first in the computing biz is not always as easy as ABC.
The people who made a computer that was getting easier then before but still very complicated.I picked this because i really liked the name and i also thought that they were on to something by saying that making computers is not as easy as abc -
The computer, controlled by pre made paper tape, was able to carry out addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and reference to previous results. It was a huge break through by Howard Aiken and Grace Hopper. I picked this because it was very smart of them to put all those usful tools into one device.

IBM had an 80 percent share of the computer market in 1961, the year in which it introduced the 1400 Series. The 1400 series was a good pick because it was a big usful item in the 60's and i thought that it deserved to be in my timeline.

In 1964, the first prototype computer mouse was made. Made by Douglas Engelbart It changed the way people looked at computers. I picked this because computer mouse's are a very big thing. You could not get around your computer if you did not have a mouse.

The floppy disk was invented. It was called the memory disk then and not is the floppy disk, computer data was written to and read from the disk's surface. I picked this because floppy disks are very usful items that are used a lot in the computer industry

WordStar was the first commercially successful word processing System program made for microcomputers. I picked this because word processer's are very big and usful things.

Microsoft released a new product and started a friendly competition with apple. I picked this because i know about the little war between microsoft and apple and i thought it would be a very interesting thing to go in the timeline.

The Iomega Zip Disk is released. The initial Zip system allowed 100MB to be stored on a cartridge roughly the size of a 3 inch floppy disk.
