The Complex Calculator was completed in 1940. George Stibits was the inventor of this and wowed a ton of people when he calculated numbers at a convention using a Teletype. (connected telephone wires). I chose this because a lot of people use calculators these days to calculate numbers. -
Colossus computer
Tommy Flowers developed a code breaking machine in 1943. This machine was called the Colossus. This machine was important because it was the first digital computer that was programable, These computers were used a lot in World War II by the British to brake codes of their allies. -
Silicon Chip
In 1958 the Silicon Chip was invented. The Silicon Chip was important because it was the first integrated circut. The Silicon Chip made electrical connections to devices. -
The First Computer Game
In 1962 the first computer game was invented called SpaceWar. This game took 200 hours to build. You could play Spacewar with PDP-1's operating system which allowed multiple players to share simultaneously. This opperating software was perfect for playing the game because it was a two player game. -
Floppy Disk
The first Floppy Disk was created by IBM. The floppy disk was created to have an alternative thing to buying hard drives. Floppy Disks were very expensive at the time. Floppy Disks today have been replaced by Thumb-Drives. -
RAM
In 1970 RAM was invented. RAM is also known as Random Access Memory. RAM is important because it allows your programs to run on your computer and it is always changing depending on what you want to do on computer. RAM these days is very expensive. -

In 1978 the first magnetic tape was invented. This was important because it helped us create secondary memory -
Microsoft
In 1983 Microsoft developed a program where the user did not have to type every command, you could just simply use the mouse that was invented and with drop down menus. -
Apple Macintosh
In 1984 the Apple Macintosh was computer. This computer had a mouse and window interface. The Mscintosh was also known as the Mac and it is s personal computer. This was an important even because it was the first commercially succsessful that incliuded the mouse and a graphical user interface. -
Google
In 1998 GOOGLE was invented by Sergey Brin. This was an important event because google is now the most commonly used search engine. Google comes up with very good results when you search something and now a days many people use it to find out imformation.
