    In a game at Louisville a player (Pete Browning) got a new bat (Made by and went 4 - 4 the next game and everyone wanted bats from John Hillerich.

    The rule that bats could no longer be sawed off at the end is put into play. Also the max diameter is 2.75 inches.

    William Shroyer Introduced the first aluminum baseball bat but they were not used untill 1970.

    In 2001 Barry Bonds hit in an outstanding 73 home runs in a single season. People say it was becasue he was using a Maple bat.
