    Columbus a bad navigator lands in America
    Columbus who was inspired by Marco Polo and sailed towards India for spicesand gold,and sailed three ships the Santa Maria, Nina and the Pinta. But with his "great" navigating skills he landed in one of the islands in the Atlantic Oceans and claimed it for Spain.

    The Spanish Empire
    With the help from Queen Isabella, and King Ferdinand, Columbus was able to set up and sail. When Columbus reached the islands of present day America he claimed for Spain and forced the Natives to work for him.

    Pizzaro takes down the Inca Impire
    Francisco and explorer set out to conquer the Inca Empire (modern day Peru). Luckily for him the Incas where facing small pox months before his arrival which wiped most of its population, Francisco kidnapped the Emperor to make the Incas to find gold once he was satisfied he killed the Emperor and took over Inca.

    Francisco Vasquez de Coronado an explorer who was blinded by the rumor he had heard, the riches that was filled in the "Seven Cities" set up an expedition. However he never found those great cities and was disappointed by the villages that he only saw.

    New France
    Jacques Cartier claimed land which is know as Canada today. He went to find beaver fur instead of gold like most explorers did. Because Cartier need help catching beavers the Hurons (the native people) helped them. Because the Huron helped the French, the French gave them weapons as a trade and even helped them out when their rivals attacked.

    James Caobot was searching the coastlind of Canada and claimed a land which 3 sides where covered with bodies of water. However there were dieases carrying mosqutioes and so many settlers faced death.
  • New Neatherland

    New Neatherland
    Henry Hundon a Dutch sailor was exploring the coastline of North America and claimed a river and called it Hudson River. Later Peter Minuit governed the new colony but by the 8th year as he was governing he received a letter from Duke of York saying he is the owner of the lands, so Minuit was planing a war, but without a single shot due to wet and damp gun powder he surrendered. It was renamed and today it is know as New York.

    New York was know for its trading post and sailed thier goods and was a great place to get jobs. But the negative side about New York was that you had to pay high taxes.
  • Louisiana

    Louisiana
    Robert de La Salle was exploring the Mississippi River and claimed every land which laid on the West side of the river. He claimed the land Louisiana after a French monarch, King Louis XIV.
  • Proclamation

    Proclamation
    This proclamation was to bring peace between the colonists and the Native Americans, after the French and Inian War. King George III decide that colonists would stay east of the Applachian Moutain and the Native Americans on the other side. The colonists didn't liked King George III idea because most land had been claimed, and called him a tyrant. Eventually colonists moved toward the weast where there were they could settle.

    From the French/Indian War Britian was under a lot of debt. To pay this debt King George the third announced a new law called the "Stamp Act". This law was a way to tax colonists by forcing them to by a stamp for every piece of paper they used. The colonists weren't happy and protest with solgan such like - "No taxation without representation". After months of protesting the law was repealed.

    Quartering Act
    Britian sent 7500 soilder to protect and allow the colonist to stay in peace as well as to stop them from disobeying the laws. The law that the colonists recived was the "Ouatering Act" this was about colonists providing housing including candles, firing, bedding, cooking utensils, salt, vinegar, anbeer. This law angered the colonist because they did nothing but to eat their food and money and do no work of repay.
  • The Townshend Acts

    The Townshend Acts
    Charles Townshend, also know as "Champagne Charlie" decided to tax the colonists even more by putting a tax on daily goods imported from England. The angry conlinist decided to boycott goods imported from England by refusing to buy the goods and making their own supplies. This act was eventually repealed.

    From days of Bostonians (colonists) teasing British soldiers "lobster backs" and other ways of threating them lead to 5 Bostanias shot dead. General Gage, the commander of the British army in America, referred as “the people were as Lawless…after the Troops arrived, as they were before.”

    The only thing that was left to pay taxes were tea, but then British East India Company was going broke so Lord North decided to sell the tea at a low price and only letting them to buy tea from their company. Even he had lowered the cost every colonists had boycotted the taxed tea so to fool the colonist Lord North lowered the tea's price even more, but unfooled colonists got angry and snuck on to the three cargo ships dumped 374 chests filled with tea in to the Harbor sea which is known as
  • The Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts
    The colonists received a new set of laws from Britain which thought were "intolerable". In response, the colonies began to unite. There were loyalists who believed that they have taken the Boston Tea Party bit too far, and agreed that it should be the Bostonians to pay the damage and blamed the misguided Patriots . In September, leaders from the 12 colonies gathered in Philadelphia and named it "The First Continental Congress"

    As a last attempt to apportch to King George in July the Contiental Congress sent an Olive Branch petition asking to end the quarrel. However King George had declared the colonies to be in a state of open rebellion and ordered "to bring the traitors to justice".

    The U.S. contitution is a document which lay out the laws for the U.S. government. It was ratified in June 21st, 1778. To stay away from one to rule all (referring to King George), they had 3 branches that had the power to "check", and changes that were made were called amendments

    After the Revolutionary War ended the states decided on how to control the government. So they came up with the Articles of Confederation a document which otlined the government of United States and made sure one wan't in control and tried to stay away from what King George did as possible.

    The Native Americans where kicked to move out of thier homes, and forced to walk 100km bared carrying their lugage on thier backs towards thier new settlement which was way smaller than their homes back in thier native land. During thier travel many became ill and died, Thier travel was full of trears and so it was named the "Trails of Tears

    The Americans living in Texas wantedc to be apart of U.S. and also had a bad relationship with the Mexicans living there. The President wanted the land of Texas but Mezico said no, so they annexed it.

    In 1819 Oregon was claimed by four nations but by 1825 only two nations were left to claim (US and Brit). Polk the president wanted to claim that land so Brit and US signed a treaty which defined that they were roughly going to divied the land

    Mexicans shot Americans and the Congress declared war. After 2 years of war Mexico ceded to give California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. Inreturn the US paid them 15 million dollars. The two nations made a treaty Guadalupe Hidalgo, and the Rio Grande became the boarders of thier lands

    The Fugitive slave law stated that all run away slaves could be captured and be sent back to their owners or African Americans who were accused to be a slave to go back being a slave. This upseted the Northerners because it was the total opposite of what they wanted and stood for.

    John Brown was a man who was disgusted by slavery and attemped to lead the rebellion of slavery. Attacking the aresenal in the south hoping to be in arm in arm with the slaves but none showed up. John Brown was captured and executed, but even though he was no longer there the southeners feared that slaves would form a rebellion.

    Abraham Lincoln was a man who belived slavery was worng and had an opinion that slavery should be bandedd. So when Abraham Lincon was elected as president the southerners were upset and feared.
  • Civil War

    The Northern States (the Union) were against slavery where as the Southern States were for slavery and secede and called them selves the Confederacy. The Civil War officially started on April 12, 1861 called the Battle of Fort Sumter, when the Confederacy attacked the Union. The war endd when General of Confederacy General Robert E. Lee surrenderd against the General of the Union General Ulysses S. Grant.

    To be offiicaly be seperateed from Britian, delegate Thomas Jefferson wrote a letter to King George including now we are "The United Colonies", which other delegates signed as well to show that theses colonies and delegates agree with this letter

    The Shay's Rebelion is named after a farmer Daneil Shey, who was put into jail in an unfair situation where he was not able to pay up his debts, because his products weren't sold anymore after the war ended. Most citizens of U.S. were in lots of debt from the Article of Confederation which led to rebllen against the government buildings, courthouses, and aresenals were burned down.

    The Outcome of the Dred Scott Case
    Dred Scott was a slave who visited Missouri with his owner. He believed that he was now a free man because slavery was banded in Missouri, but when he took it to the supreem court they judged that he was no free man because he was not a citizen but a "property". This upseted the Northerners because they weren't able to make that man free of slavery.
