History of Advancement in Information Management Timeline

  • Began working for my organization

    My initial position with my organization involved records management and customer service.
  • Website Interface and Utility Billing Training

    I was provided initial training for both our website administration and utility software programs
  • Organizational Structure Reorganized

    The structure of the city and utility were reorganized. Through this change, the position I currently hold was created.
  • Accepted Current Position

    I interviewed for and was hired as a Management Analyst for the city and utility.
  • IT Coordination & Website Administrator

    Soon after the acceptance of my position, I took on the role of IT Coordinator. Through this role, I inventoried current software and hardware the city and utility owned. Additionally, I created procedures for and oversee updating technology. I also took on the role as the primary administrator of the city's website.
  • Network Server & PC Upgrade

    Through coordination with our IT, our network server was upgraded. Several of the office computers were upgraded as well.
  • Telephone System Upgrade

    After a proposal process, a company is selected to upgrade the phone system to create a cohesive network through most city/utility buildings. The new system will be put into place in the spring of 2017. I am currently overseeing this process.
  • Citizen Survey

    The idea of a citizen survey is conceptualized. The purpose of the citizen survey is to see if current government services are being funded at an appropriate level to the satisfaction of city residents. The survey will help the city realign it's goals and create a strategic plan. My role is in the creation and distribution of the survey, as well as to analyze the results upon completion. This survey must be complete prior to the summer of 2017.
  • Website Redesign

    I began work with a web design and hosting company to re-work the city's website through analyzing web-traffic to better the site's navigation and structure. Ultimately the goal is to help citizens find information faster and increase government transparency.
