  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

    The Battles of Lexington and Concord are more widely knows as the "Shot Heard 'Round the World." This was the beginning of the Revolutionary war.
  • The Second Continental Congress wants to make Washington Commander of the Continental Army

    On May 10, 1775 the second Continental Congress met in Philadelphia. They wanted to make George Washington the leader of the Continental army.
  • The Battle of Bunker Hill

    The colonists took over Bunker Hill and Breed's hill. The Brit's won but they suffered heavy lost. This is where is famous line "Don't Fire Until you See the Whites of their Eyes." The siege lasted 11 months.
  • Battle of Quebec

    Colonial Benedict Arnold tired to take back the city of Quebec. This failed and it caused General Richard Montgomery to lose his life. The Revolutionary war started out in the colonists favor until this Battle.
  • Common Sense by Thomas Paine

    Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense which was in favor of the Americans. This is part of what turned the colonists squabble into the Revolutionary war.

    Deceleration of Independence

    In June of 1776 Thomas Jefferson wrote the Deceleration of Independence. On July 2, 1776 not everyone approved the Deceleration. So they changed some things and on July 4,1776 everyone agreed on the Deceleration and it was sent to Kind George the Third.
  • Battle of Trenton

    The Britons were not ready for this. They were tired. Not to mention that it was Christmas. They got word that Washington was coming but they were to exhausted to fight. Washington separated his men and in the end they won.

    This was the turn of the Revolutionary War. The Brit's got a small win over the Americans.
  • Paoli Massacre

    The Brit's were going to attack Philadelphia but we got word of what was happening and we amused them.

    Valley Forge

    The winter of 1777-1778 was a hard one. The American's lost many men to the Brits, the weather, and to starvation. Washington took advantage of this and his men became stronger.
