Christopher sails the ocean
Christopher Columbus was a man who wanted to proove poeple wrong. He was told that the earth was flat, but he had to defy people and proove them wrong. He got permission to bring 3 ships across the ocean to try and to to china, but to find out that there was land between them. Christopher finds america and leaves to find cuba thinking it was china and had people get off his boats and check it out. -
gained independence
decleration of independenceJuly 4th is I think the most important part of us history. This is the day that we finally get away from brittan and start our own government. This is the day that they write the decleratin of independence. But there are a couple ythings a few people dont know. for starters the decleration of independence wasnt actually signed on july 4th Second there are 3 copys that they have found to date. And finally as they find more documents they have discovered that there is more writing on the back. -
Lousiana Purchase
lousiana purchase helped the union build and become bigger. it brought people together and more. The president washington bought the land from the fench and thought it was a good idea, turns out it was. -
missouri compromise
the missouri compromise added more states to the union. The people living in the lousiana territory thought it was good to break a piece off so they can ave another state. it became a slave state and added maine a free state. Than once they realhat added save states wasnt a good idea t add slave states thy made the 30,36 rule, save deviding line. -
election of 1860
election of 1860:I have 2 things to say about the election of 1860. There were 4 canidates and one guy named abraham lincoln thought that he had a shot but everypne else thought he was a long shot, but he showed them. Lincoln had the most voters, and more voters came to this election than any other in the states. -
Battle of gettysburg
The battle of gettysburg was long and very dragged out. Could have been finished alot sooner than I thought. Durring the battle, lincoln left the battle to get supplies for battle. A smart move but also a dumb one. Robert E Lee thought he could create peace with the north, that didnt happen. -
Lincolns assassination
lincolns assassination , it was a tradgic day. When the president left the white house he didnt say goodbye or goodnight, odd. At the Theater as lincoln was watchinig the play he got shot in the neck. for no reason. After the shoting John left on horses to make a clean get away.
