    Order In Council
    There was a decrease in the number of immigrants to Canada after World War 1, due to higher expectations from the government. They made a new law called "order in council" which did not let any immigrant of any Asiatic rate to come into Canada. This law was a decrease for Canada because we were extremely racist. Even Jews were coming to Canada for help because Hitler was killing them in Germany and we still didn't allow them in. This was significant because it taught Canada lessons.
  • The Great Depression

    The Great Depression
    People lost millions of dollars because investors sold shares more and more and the shares flooded the market at extremely low prices. This caused a decline for Canada because of all the money they lost. People lost their jobs, homes and starved. Other than the rich everyone else was screwed. The great depression was significant to Canada because we still talk about it today.
  • Regina Riot

    Regina Riot
    A public meeting was called in Market square to give an update on the progress of movement and gain support. This event was a decline for Canada because people disturbed peace and left many people hurt. RCPM officers charged into the crowd and arrested the eight leaders. The crowd fought back with sticks and rocks. At the end of the day one constable was killed and one hundred were injured. The Regina riot was significant to Canada because of all the people who got affected.

    Women Roles During WW2
    During World War Two women stepped up and took over men jobs. This was a progress for Canada because people women got more independence and rights. They were now allowed to carry guns and fly planes. They weren't allowed to fight but they were allowed to entertain the soldiers and be nurses at the war. Women roles having more rights is significant to Canada because it slowly made genders become more equally. Also, women still would cook, and clean if the rights didn't change back then.
  • Hong Kong

    Britain sent Canadians to help defend the city Hong Kong. This was a decline for Canada because we lost many soldiers. On December 8th the Japanese army invaded Hong Kong. Canadians were eventually forced to surrender. We lost 290 soldiers and 10 000 allied troops were taken as prisoners including 1685 of Canadians. Hong Kong was significant to Canada because of all the lives it affected.

    Japanese Canadians
    This was significant to Canada because Japan bombed Pearl Harbour Japanese Canadians were treated very unfairly. This was a decline for Canada because Canada was being extremely racist and it didn't look very good. The government thought that all Japanese people were spy's even though there was no proof. Many of the Japanese Canadians fought in world war one for us and even after that we still treated them poorly. Japanese family's got separated and their belongings got auctioned off.
  • Technology

    Technology
    During world war one the technology continued to get more advanced. This was a progress for Canada because we kept becoming more intelligent and learned new things. Canadian scientists developed CDX radars which would detect small objects, such as submarines. This device helped the operator find enemy's easier. Canadian scientists also developed a progress to preserve food which saved money. The advanced technology was significant to Canada because we use the knowledge still today.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    British and Canadians landed on the beaches to take over German territory. This was both a progress and decline. It was a decline because 340 Canadians were killed trying to attach. It was a progress because it was a success. This event also helped to end World War One. D-day is significant to Canada because we still talk about it today and it affected many peoples lives.
