President Hindenburg appoints Hitler to be Chancellor of Germany.
At this time Hitler created the 'Enabling Act' which allowed for all the attacks on Jewish people. -
Dachau Concentration camp
Germanys SS army opens the Dachau concentration camp outside of Munich in southern Germany. Dachau was the first regular concentration camp ran by the Nazis. -
Military conscription
Nazi Germany reintroduces mandatory military conscription. Recruiting anti-Jewish, physically fit men, white, blonde, blue eyed, Aryan raced people. Hitler and the Nazi party believed in creating a true Aryan race by cleansing the world of all other races. -
Kristallnacht
Kristallnacht; translates into crystal night in German, referred to as 'the night of broken glass'. Kristallnacht took place on November 9th & 10th, where many Jewish-owned businesses, synagogues and homes were destroyed during the violent attacks and destruction in Germany caused by anti-Jewish people and the Nazis. -
Germany Invades Poland
Germany invades Poland right after the Gleiwitz incident where the SS attacked their own radio station dressed up as the Polish rogues to blame the attack on Poland and spark up tension to invade Poland. The Polish army was defeated within weeks of the invasion. Britain and France, allies of Poland, soon after declared war on Germans. This set up the beginning of WWII in Europe. -
Auschwitz Liberated
Soviet Army went into concentration camp Auschwitz and liberated approximately 7000 remaining prisoners, who were mostly ill and dying. As the wrest of the prisoners were sent on a 'death march'.
