Just after the New Year, Anna tells Lola and the others that the germans are losing the war and retreating -

Lola and the others hear fighting near by. they can hear tanks rumbling and a crack of gunfire. to Lola, this time it is a wonderful sound. -

Anna tells Lola and the others that they are free they crawl out of the hole they where in there for 9 months -

Lola has to beg for food and a Russian solder offers to take her to an orphanage -

the Russian soldier has to drop Lola off in a small town named Gritsev he explains to the mayor that his plans changed so he has to take her to an orphanage but someone named Sergi offers to take her in. -

Lola finds herself in a Displaced person's camp run by the America's she spends over a year there Lola tries to go to Israel because she doesn't want to go to America -
