Heart Matters Timeline Assignment

  • BRSFF Conducted Interview( Ages 18+)

    Heart Matter collected data from participates to come to solutions for their mission of promoting healthy lifestyle changes throughout the 50 states of the USA. The questionnaire includes health-related risk, chronic conditions, and preventive services.
  • Data Analyst Collected Data from Survey

    After the interviews were conduct the information was transferred into a CSV format from the BRFSS database. The data was numerical (quantitative) to better organize the data.
    An initial analysis from the data helped to determine if a lack of medical care is a problem in Alabama, and why. -Data has now been handled by interviewers and database system of BRSFF, as well as Heart Matter data analyst
  • Expansion of Heart Matter in Alabama

    Expansion of the business occurred, with several offices opening in Alabama. Funding was also given for a SQL database to store, manage, analyze data.
  • Physical Transfer to New Location

    The data set was copied to a flash drive and delivered to the new location. The codebook was also transferred for identification of responses given. It was then immediately imported into the new system. Update: the IT system administrator has now added to the persons who have touch or access the data.
  • Data is Missing

    Data analyst discovered the CSV file has unreadable characters by the SQL database during transfer. Some rows of data was loss. The quantity of data did not match the original CSV file. Insufficient data may result in inaccurate results from queries, hindering the required information from being found.
    The medical data does not pose a risk as protected personal information is not access. However, if it were HIPPA would come into place. Update: an additional data analyst has touched the data.
  • New Analyst Hired in Alabama Location

    The new analyst task included re-reviewing the master data set. He/she needs to determine the top 3 health concerns the new facility should focus on for healthy hearts in Alabama.
