    After 200 years slaves could communicate between them. At the start they had different languages but after 200 years they were able to commuicate.

    Voodoo was forbbiden by the french. It teached independent behavior and united different factions of slaves. Boukman was a Voodoo priest who led one thousand slaves against the french.
  • Toussaint L'Ouverture

    He was a former salve but considered brilliant. He led many slave revolts and fought against the French, Spanish and British troops.
  • Jean-Jacques Dessalines

    L'Ouverture was captured and died in prison. Whe he was captured Jean-Jacques took control. The French couldn't resupply and Jean-Jacques wins the was in 1803
