    The Stock Market crashes and collapses, making it the worst stock market collapse of history.

  • Dustbowl

    Destroys farms and farmland. Destroys rural economy and jobs.

  • Hoover Dam construction begins

    Hoover attempts to create new Jobs by starting the construction of the Hoover Dam.

  • First Hooverville built

    As people are losing their jobs and the unemployment numbers are rising they go to live in Hoovervilles rather than living on the street. Hoovervilles were compared to slums and were horrible to live in.

  • 25% Unemployment hits in the U.S.

    Because of the unemployment we see a huge rise in homelessness and millions of people are either living on the streets or "Hoovervilles."

  • Franklin D. Roosevelt gets elected which gives the U.S. new hope

    Many people blamed the severity of the crash on Hoover and were optimistic about the newly elected FDR.

  • First New Deal Begins

    15 new laws are implemented to fight the Great Depression. These were designed to employ people, safety nets ,and etc

  • Gold Resere Act

    Forced people to sell their gold in hopes to help the economy and make money for the government to help with other programs

  • Unemployment rate falls under 10%

    FDRs programs made a dent in the huge problem as we see some of these horrible statistics go down

  • FDR Gets relelected

    FDR brought hope and made some quick fixes to the awful Depression ,this caused him to get elected

  • Dominoes fall as WW2 starts

    WW2 officially starts on this date after Germany and the axis powers start the war against the Allied nations.
