    Hitler met with his top advisors to discuss expansion. He planned to absorb Austria and Czechoslovakia.

    German troops march on Austria.
    Gremany's troops march into Austria unoppessed due to a large majority of Austrians were Germans who wanted unification. A day later Germany and Austria from a union. The League of Nations does nothing to stop Germany.
  • Munich Agreement signing.

    Munich Agreement signing.
    The Munich Agreement was between France, Great Britain, and Germany. Germany promised in the Munich Agreement that Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia would be the last German expansion. Hitler claimed it was made inorder to protect the Gremans in Sudetenland. French Premier Edouard Daladier, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, and Hitler dictator of Germany all signed the Munich Agreement.
  • Gremans break thier promise.

    Gremans break thier promise.
    The Gremans invaded the remaining protion of Cezchoslovakia breaking the Munich Agreement.
  • Nonaggression Pact.

    Germany and the Soviet Union sign a nonaggression pact saying they won't attack one another. This will avoid war on two fronts for Germany when invading Poland. Germany and the Soviet Union also agree to split Poland in half between each other.
  • Blitzkrieg in Poland.

    Gremany starts the take over of Poland. The Luftwaffe or the German air force bomb air bases in Poland, railroads, cities, and military bases. The Blitzkrieg or lighting war works with Germany taking Poland three weeks later.
  • World War II has begun.

    World War II has begun.
    France and Britain declare war on Germany. For months both French and British troops wait on France's easthern border sarting into Germany with German troops staring back. This became known as the "sitting war" or sitkrieg by the Germans. News papers reffered to it as the phony war.
  • Denmark and Norway are next.

    Denmark and Norway are next.
    Hitler justfities invasion by saying once again he is protecting Gremans in Denmark and Norway. However, he does not stop there once in Denmark and Norway. He then turns on the Netherlands, Belguim, and Luxembourg. From these countries Hitler plans to build bases to later attack Great Britain. The phony war is over by May.

    Hitler's forces came through the Ardennes, or wooded ravines, in northeasthern France and headed for Paris. Italy joined the war on Germany's side attacking France on the south. With war on two fronts France fell soon after.
  • Britain strikes back.

    Britain strikes back.
    Hitler begins to attack Great Britain with the German air forces. Britain has a secert weapon though, radar. Britain can now take out Greman plains in the dark without sigth. Gremany fails to capture Britain.
