Britain and France has previous agreements to protect Czechoslovakia if anything were to happen to them. Hitler invited the French Premier, Édouard Daladier, and British Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain to a meeting. Hitler told the two that his invasion and annexing of Czechoslovakia was his last demand of territory. The P.M. and Premier eagelry signed the agreement to avoid war, but essentially turned over the Sudeten land over to Germany

Stalin began to annex the countries of eastern Europe, including Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Late in 1939, Stalin sent his Soviet army into Finland. After three months of fighting, the Fins surrendered.

The German offensive trapped more than 400,000 British and French soldiers, causing them to flee to the coasts of Dunkirk and the English channel. The British and French soldiers retreated and escaped, as Italy invaded France from the south, as the Germans closed in on Paris from the North.

Hitler knew that his navy could not possibly compete with that of Britain. Because of this, he decided to launch a fleet of Arial attacks on Britain's air force. Hitler began bombing runs over London, every night for two months. Due to the new technological advancements of radar in Britain, many German planes were shot down before they could deliver attacks.
