    Hitler's Secret Meeting
    This meeting, attended by Adolf Hitler and many German businessmen. The aim of the meeting was figuring out how the Nazi party could gain control of Germany, mainly, financing the Nazi's campaign.
  • Hitler annexes Austria

    Hitler annexes Austria
    On March 12, 1938, German troops went into Austria with the goal of annexing the nation into Germany as part of the Anschluss. The anschluss campaign was Hitler and the Nazi party attempting to unite all German-speaking regions. This included Austria and part of Czechoslovakia. Austria was made part of the Third Reich without bloodshed, as most of Austria's population was German-speaking people who sympathized with Hitler.

    The Munich Agreement
    After annexing Austria, Hitler had his sights set on the Sudetenland, a German-speaking region of Czechoslovakia bordering Germany. In order to gain control of the region without bloodshed. In an act of appeasement, or giving dictators what they want to avoid war, the prime ministers of France and Britain gave Hitler the area, and in return, Hitler would no longer use hi military for any sort of conquest, although Hitler would soon go back on his promise.

    In August 1939, Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin surprised the entire world by signing a Non-Agression pact. This decision would allow Germany and Russia to invade Poland without Germany having to fight a war on two fronts. Germany and the Soviet Union then invaded Poland, conquered it, and divided it up.

    Germany and the Soviet Union invade Poland
    On September 1, 1939, World War 2 began with the invasion of Poland. Germany, the Soviet Union, and a small number of Slovaks invaded Poland with more than 2 million units, crushing the Polish army of no more than 950,000 units in under a month. The western part of the country went to Germany, and the east was put under Soviet control.

    The Phony War was a period of time in the beginning phase of World War 2 in which no major military operations were launched by the Allies. Even though war had been declared on Germany, France and Britain did nothing to stop Germany from expanding into Denmark, Norway, and Finland.
