Hitlers secret meeting
Adolf Hitler held a secret conference in the Reich Chancellery with military advisors where he revealed his plans to expand Germany's living space. Hitlers dream was to expand germany at any cost and create a perfect society. Hitler was a great speaker he used his words to persudade people to do what he wanted them to do he was always like that. Hitlers secret meeting was all about this dream and how it would end up playing out to grow his empire. -
Germany Invades Austria
German troops march into Austria. A day later Hitler announced an Anschluss with Austria without a shot being fired. Austria was annexed into a greater Germany. Austria was now apart of Hitlers empire this was an advantage to Hitler. Now that he had these smaller countries invaded he could set up and troop there. Hitler now had the abaility to attack neighboring countries of the ones he already had invaded. Hitlers empire continued to grow and establish itself with power. -
Hitler Appeased at Munich
Adolf Hitler, Benito Moussolini, Edouard Daladier, Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich Pact, which gives germany Czechoslovakia in the name of peace. Chamberlain declared the meeting had achieved "peace in our time". Everyone thought it was a good idea to try anf keep hitlers head. They wanted Hitler to thin k he had power but the other countries didn't believe in what he was doing. They knew what Hitlers intentions were and sacraficed a country for those intentions. -
Germany invades Czechoslovakia
Hitlers forces invade and occupy Czechoslovakia, this nation was sacraficed due to the Munich agreement. The Munich agreement was an atempt to prevent Germany's imperial army and for them to remain calm. Czechoslovakia didn't put up a fight their army couldn't handle Hitlers imperial rehgin they were too stronger and powerful for the little Cezchoslovakia country. They were now a part of Hitlers empire as he continued to expand and grow. -
Nonaggression Pact
On this day Germany and the Soviet Union sign a non-aggression pact, it shocked the world given their opposite ideologies. The dictators were, despite appearances, both playing to their own political needs the two dictors were using this as anadvantage by using each other trying to gain power which both wanted Joesph Stalin wanted the biggest industrial powerhouse in the world as where Hitler wanted to make a giant empire. Hitler wanted to use this to his benefit. -
Germany Invades Poland
At 4:45 am around1.5 million German troops invade Poland all along its border with Germany. At the same time, the German Luftwaffe bombed Polish airfields, and German warships and U-boats attacked Polish naval forces in the Baltic Sea. Hitler said the attack on Poland was a defensive action, but Britain and France did not believe Hitler, they were angry and upset with what was this attack. -
Britian and France declare war
In response to Hitler's invasion of Poland, Britain and France, both allies of Poland declare war on Germany the reason due to the fact that the British ocean liner Athenia, which was sunk by a German submarine that thought the ship was armed. There were more than 1,100 passengers on board, 112 of those people lost thier lives. 28 americans were killed, but Roosevelt was unfazed by the tragedy, declaring nuetrality in the war. -
Germany invades Norway and Denmark
German warships docked on Norways ports, from Narvik to Oslo towns thousands of German troops and occupying Norway. At the same time, German forces were in Copenhagen and other cities. German forces were able to slip through mines Britian had laid around Norwegian ports. In Denmark, King Christian X, convinced his army could not fight off a German invasion, surrendered almost immediately. Hitlers empire was growing and couldn't be stopped. -
French giving in
Paris has fallen and the German conquest of France reaching the end Marshal Henri Petain replaces Paul Reynaud as Prime Minister and announces that he wants to sign an armistice with the Nazis. The next day French General Charles de Gaulle, not very well known as a general who was looked up too, said to England that he belived in them wanting his countrymen to continue the fight against Germany. He didn't want Germany to have power neither did most other countries. -
Germanys Attack get defeated
The Battle of Britain reaches the end when the Royal Air Force shot down 56 German aircrafts with in less than an hour. This defeat made germany realize that the GermanLuftwaffe doesn't have and couldn't retain air supremacy over Britain. On September 19, Adolf Hitler postponed "Operation Sea Lion" the sea or naval invasion of Britain. Htiler was defeated at this point but wouldn't let it ruin the rest of his plans he would bounce back from this defeat.
