    Several neighboring tribes have called him their khan, or leader. He became very popular with Mongols. He mastered all rival tribes all but exterminates the Tatars, who killed his father.

    Genghis Khan died in August 1227. He lived about 60 years. No one knows exactly how he died but he did live a long life. His grave is not marked to keep people of slealing it but even to this day it is still not found. Even though it is not found a statue is made in memory of him.
