Mongol leader Genghis Khan was born in Mongolia. He was named "Temujin" after a chieftain that his father had captured. He was a member of the "Borjigin" tribe.

Temujin married Borte which created and cemented the alliance between the Konkirat tribe and his own. Borte was captured by a rival tribe and Temujin was able to rescue her. She gave birth to a son shortly after.
