Catelyn Stark, wife to Eddard Stark, tells her husband that his somewhat second father, Jon Arryn, is dead. His wife, Lysa Arryn has fled to the Vale with her child Robert Arryn. They also get message that King Robert is coming north to Winterfell.

At Winterfell, Ned Stark (aka Eddard Stark) greets his guests, who are King Robert and his family. The King and Ned go to the crypts where his sister Lyanna is burried, where the King and Ned recall the past adventures. When the King names Ned Hand of the King. The Hand of the King is where a person deals with matter not important enough to bother the King. The job of Jon Arryn before he died.

Catelyn and her husband Ned are disturbed int the night by Maester Luwin who brought a message from the Eyrie about how her sister suspects that Lord Arryn was murdered by the Lannisters. Afterwards, they debate who and what are going with Ned to King's Landing. Ned will go to King's Landing with their daughters Arya and Sansa, their wolves, and a portion of their guard.

After climbing the broken tower in Winterfell, Bran climbs to the top of it to see the beautiful view overlooking it, when he sees the incest being commented by Queen Cersei and her brother Jaime. After being seen in the window, Jaime grabs Bran, and throws his from the tower to make sure no one knows their secret. Surviving the fall, Bran is made a cripple, and is a deep sleep.

Daenerys was wed to Khal Drogo, being given Dragon eggs as a wedding gift.

Ned went south with his daughters and his guard accompanied by the King and his family. While Jon when north to the wall with his Uncle Benjen and Tyrion Lannister.

Bran was nearly murdered by an assassin wielding a valyrin steel blade. Catelyn goes to King's Landing to discover who was behind the attack.

Sansa was walking with Joffrey when Joffrey mocked and then attacked Arya and her friend Mycah, Arya's wolf Nymeria attacked Joffrey in retaliation, and Arya made the Wolf run away to save it. Because of Nymeria being missing, Queen Cersei demands that Lady, Sansa's wolf, be killed as an example.

Catelyn Stark is at King's Landing and is brought to Little Finger (Petyr Baelish) who tells her that the knife that was used in the attempt to kill Bran was Little Fingers and that he lost it to Tyrion Lannister in a bet. During this time, Bran wakes from his deep sleep

Tyrion came back from the wall and to Winterfell, Tyrion gave schematics to a special saddle for Bran to ride a horse, despite being a cripple.

Catelyn and her guards takes Tyrion Lannister to the Eyrie, to be put on trail for the attempted murder of Bran

After talking with Little Finger, Ned and his guard are attacked by Jaime Lannister and his men, Ned is deeply wounded, and Jory, Ned's captain of the guard, dies in his arms.

Tyrion Lannister demanded a trial by combat, where his friend Bronn will fight in his name. In the end, Bronn had killed Ser Vardis, Lady Arryn's champion. From that, Tyrion was freed.

Viserys Targaryen, Daenerys brother, disrupted the feast waving his sword demanding his crown. Khal Drogo told him he will have his crown. Then Drogo's Blood-riders (bodyguards) grabbed and held down Viserys as Drogo poured molted gold over Viserys head, killing him.

Ned is awoken in the night to see that King Robert is dying from a stab wound from a boar that he was hunting

Ned presents a letter from King Robert, naming him Lord Regent until Joffrey becomes of age. Queen Cersei destroys the letter and takes Ned as prisoner, being betrayed by Little Finger,

Arya discovers that her father Ned was betrayed and she runs away to avoid being taken hostage.

Jon and a group of rangers find Othor, a fellow rangers, body dead, but it was different, his body was untouched, with pale blue eyes despite that Othor had brown eyes. They took Othor's body back and later that night, Othor came back to life, Jon had to finally stop him with fire, burning the corpse.

Robb gets word of Lord Stark's capture, Robb call the banners and march to King's Landing to free his father.

Tyrion meets up with his father Lord Tywin on the battlements with his own men, on the road Tyrion befriended a group of pillagers who agree to fight with Tyrion if they are given good steel.

Catelyn Is with her son Robb as they march past the Twins, to pass, Robb agrees to marry one of Lord Frey's daughters. along with taking two of his sons as wards.

On the Wall, Jon Snow is given Longclaw, a Valyrian Steel sword given to him by Lord Commander Mormont.

Daenerys saves a lamb women who was trained in the arts of the Maesters and tends to Khal Drogo's wound.

Tyrion with his group of pillagers go into battle against the Stark's banner-men, after a long and gruesome battle, the Lannisters where victorious.

Robb and his men go to Riverrun and defeat Jaime Lannister taking him prisoner

Daenerys sees that Drogo is dying and begs the Maester to heal his wounds. The women tells her that only blood magic will bring her husband back. So she preforms a spell, which in turn causes Daenerys to loss her child and Drogo is not living, but just a walking body, with no conscious. So Daenerys kills Drogo with a pillow

Daenerys Burns Khal Drogo's body and sets the dragon eggs in the fire, and Daenerys stepped into the fire. After the fire had gone out, the only things left was Daenerys with three baby dragons in a bay of ash.
