    The End of the French and Indian War

    The war ended with a treaty and left Britain in great debt that was pushed onto the colonists. This made the colonists very upset because they couldn't claim anymore land from Native Americans and they were being taxed on everything.

    The act cut the cost of imports down from 6 cents per gallon to three making it much less expensive and it attempted to cut down the amount of smuggling. However, it also took away colonial rights to trials on smuggling which made the colonists very annoyed.

    The Stamp Act meant that all paper had to have a stamp on it, and all the stamps cost money to make Britain more money. This angered the colonists into creating a parliament to combat the act until the British parliament revoked the tax.

    This act allowed Britain to tax the colonies as they pleased. However, not many colonists reacted to this act being passed.

    The act that created customs to prevent smuggling. The colonists again boycotted British goods and women got together to make their own clothes and such to avoid purchasing anything from Britain.

    The tea act lowered the price of tea. Many colonists got mad out of principle and poured the modern day equivalent of millions of dollars into the water.

    The Revolutionary War started with a battle between a British troop in Massachusetts and some colonists and the British troop lost. Most colonists were passionate about gaining freedom, while others were skeptical of how well the colonies would be able to govern themselves.
