The French and Indian War was a War against those of New France and British America. The War was ended because of the Treaty of Paris, leaving colonists upset because their ability to take land from the Indians was limited. They were left in war debt. In order to pay off this debt, the British needed to raise tazes. The colonists didn't have a say wich unpleased them. -
The Molasses Act was extended by the Sugar Act by the change of tax on imports from the Carribean. It had changed from six cents per gallon to three cents per gallon. This act angered colonists because it allowed British cords the right to try colonist smuggers. This had taken power away from th colonial cords. -
The Stamp Act enforced printed materials to include stamps. Although, the stamps were not free. This being, they tried to gain revenue for Britain and it affected colonists due to the use of paper. Protestors organized the Stamp Act Congress and decided to boycott British goods. British Parliament repealed the Stamp Act. -
British Pariament had replaced the Stamp Act with the Declaratory Act. This act meaning, they are not in control and do not need to tax unless necessary. The appeal of the Stamp Acthad the colonists feel at victory. Althoug, Great Britain was still in need of money. -
With Britain still in need of money, Chancellor of the Exchequer Charles Townshend got Parliament to pass new taxes. This act created a new board of customs o stop smuggling. The colonists began to boycott again. Women and daughters got involved to hmespu clothes to replae British ones. Merhchants lost money because they lived off selling and importing goods. -
The Tea Act offered tax exemptions and rebates for tea coming in from the British East India Company. This allowed them to dump tea o colonies wo lowered teir prices. Colonists thought cheap tea would cut into he profits of smugglers. For this reason, the colonists were angered. -
Colonist felt the need and want to be independent and have freedom. The War began with the confrontaion between the Local Militia at Lexington and Concord, Massahusetts and the British troops, Within the War, troops in Local Militia fought for the colonists and their colonies.
