Frederick falls to ownership of Hugh Auld

Frederick gets moved from Colonol Lloyd's Plantation to Baltimore. Mr. Hughs wife teaches Frederick how to read and this estabalishes his passion to learn how to read and write. -
Frederick is taken away from Balitmore to Thomas Auld
Captain Athony dies suddenly and leaves behind no will. Frederick. He falls to the ownership of Lucretia, but is returned to Baltimore. Lucretia dies soon after and is soon given to Thomas Auld, her husband -
Frederick Douglass leaves Thomas Auld to Mr. Covey
Douglass has been becoming "unmanageable," and in order to rectify this, Thomas sends Frederick to Mr. Covey in order to "break him." -
Frederick Fights Back
Frederick recieves a beating for not doing a job right that was assigned to him. Frederick runs away to Thomas Auld and he sends him away. On the way back he runs into Sandy Jenkins, whom gives him a "root." When Frederick gets back he fights back against Covey and Hughes and wins -
Mr. WIlliam Freland
