  • 70 students in Klang down with food poisoning

    70 cases of food poisoning in Klang 70 pupils of Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Kapar suffered from food poisoning and two were treated at Meru Health Clinic. The meals at the school canteen were the suspected cause of the food poisoning and the canteen was closed until March 5 for investigation.

    40 pupils suffer food poisoning 40 pupils from SK Guru Kalgidhar in Buntong were admitted to the Buntong health clinic due to food poisoning. No deaths were reported and canteen food was the suspected cause for the outbreaks.

    16 cases related to bazaars 16 cases were reported and were confirmed to be related to Ramadhan bazaars nationwide. Health Ministry disease control division director Dr Chong Chee Kheong said that bazaar food such as Kerang rebus (boiled cockles), bubur lambuk and popiah basah are suspected to have caused the outbreaks.\

    Food poisoning in wedding banquet Spoilt food served in a wedding banquet in Alor Star caused 65 victims to be warded. Two deaths were reported. Victims had symptoms such as diarrhea and vommitting. The suspected culprit seems to be a particular chicken dish served in the banquet.

    102 students from Tapah, Perak, and Simpang Ampat, Penang were suspected of food poisoning while two were confirmed. A student said that the suspected cause was believed to be the ayam masak kurma which they had for dinner.
