Final - Worldviews Timeline

  • Classical Worldview (500 B.C. - 500 A.D.)
    500 BCE

    Classical Worldview (500 B.C. - 500 A.D.)

I think that this symbol represents the Classical Worldview because the Greeks valued their physical needs very much. They created the first Olympics and it grew to be so important that they had stadiums for games in every city.
  • Middle Ages Worldview (500 A.D. - 1500 A.D.)
    500

    Middle Ages Worldview (500 A.D. - 1500 A.D.)

This symbol represents the Middle Ages because Christianity took control over everyone's religious life; from peasants to lords. During this time the people put God before anything and everything, including academics and learning.
  • Renaissance Worldview (1300's A.D. - 1700's A.D.)
    1300

    Renaissance Worldview (1300's A.D. - 1700's A.D.)

The symbol of Humanism represents the Renaissance because the people in this time strongly believed in the idea of Humanism. They believed that this life could actually mean something and that it was worth living; not just enduring until you made it to heaven.
  • Enlightenment Worldview (1650 A.D. - 1800 A.D.)

    Enlightenment Worldview (1650 A.D. - 1800 A.D.)

This symbol represents the Enlightenment Worldview because in the Renaissance they valued logic, reason, and philosophy more than anything else. They valued their philosophers as well and this made them constantly think and see things from different points of views.
  • Romantic Worldview (1780 A.D. - 1850 A.D.)

    Romantic Worldview (1780 A.D. - 1850 A.D.)

I think that a rose represents the Romantic Worldview because a rose represents love and affection and during the Romanticism people tended to think with their hearts instead of their heads. When thinking with your heart you tend to make decisions based on love and emotions; which is what a rose represents.
  • Victorian Worldview (1830 A.D. - 1900 ish A.D.)

    Victorian Worldview (1830 A.D. - 1900 ish A.D.)

This symbol represents the Victorian Worldview because during this time everything was based off Feudalism. Feudalism is, "a social and economic system in which people worked and fought for nobles who gave them protection and land in return..." (Ms. Kirk). Kings and Queens reigned at the top of this system and controlled almost everything that happened in that era.
  • Modern Worldview (1900 A.D. - 1970 A.D.)

    Modern Worldview (1900 A.D. - 1970 A.D.)

I think this slogan/symbol represents the Modern Worldview because during this era many things were discovered, founded, and invented; including cars, computers, airplanes, spaceships, etc. This era was really a turning point for the human generation and the slogan, "Make it New.," represents just that. "Make it New.," means to create and do things that are "out of the ordinary"; to make this a new/different era.
  • Post-Modern Worldview (1968 ish A.D. - 1990 ish A.D.)

    Post-Modern Worldview (1968 ish A.D. - 1990 ish A.D.)

I think that this symbol represents the Post-Modern Worldview because the people were saying, "No.," to the previous worldview (modern worldview). They didn't like having massive institutions, businesses, medical establishments, etc. They said, "No.," to rules and to the Modern Worldview.
