Fidel Alejandro Castro was born, in August 13,1926 near Biran, in Cuba's eastern province. He was the third of six children. He had two brothers Raul, and Ramon, and three sisters Angelina, Emma, and Agustian.

1943, is when Fidel Ruz changed his name. At Age 17 Fidel was recognized by his father. So he changed his name to Fidel Castro.

By 1947, Castro had became passionate about social justice. So he traveled to the Dominican Republic, to join an expedition. The expedition was attempting to overthrow the country's dictator.
