Mom was born without any health problems. She is Caucasian. Mom works at a retail store full time. She graduated high school, but does not attend college. -
Jay-Z and Beyonce Meet
Mom and Dad meet while they are in high school. They become romantically involved and start dating. They continue to date but do not get married. -
Beyonce finds out she is pregnant
Mom finds out that she is going to have her first child with dad. They are not married and are young parents. Their own parents are their only support systems, but they are not fully supportive of the idea either. -
Beyonce participates in risky behaviors during pregnancy
During her pregnancy, Mom smokes Marijuana as well as not recieving adequate prenatal care. This is unhealthy for the baby and the development of the baby. This may have participated in the chromosomal deletion. -
Blue Ivy
Baby is born. She is born with Aortic Valve Stenosis which is when the aortic valve does not open fully and there is decreased blood flow from the heart. She also was born with Chromosome 9 and 10 deletion which is a genetic disorder that affects the heart and brain function. She also has numerous other heart conditions such as Moderate Transverse Aortic Arch hypoplasia, Atrial Arrythmia, and Pleural Effusion. -
Blue Ivy has surgery # 1
Baby has a Balloon Valvuloplasty of the Aortic Valve. This is a surgery that widens the heart valve by inflating a balloon in the valve that is narrowed and it opens it. -
Blue Ivy has surgery # 2
Baby has a coarctation repair, inspection of the mitral valve, an atrial valvectomy, and a rapair of ASD.
A Coarctation is the narrowing of the aorta. It is common in children with chromosomal abnormalities. The ASD repair is for when there is a hole in the septum between the left and right atria and there could be backflow of blood between the two. -
Blue Ivy has surgery # 3
Baby has surgery for chest closure, placement of intracardiac lines, and a left chest tube placement. The lines are to monitor the pressures in every area of the heart. The chest tubes are to drain the fluid. The point of both is to monitor closely the function of her heart. -
Blue Ivy goes to the Cath Lab
Baby goes to the Cath Lab to find out the cause of her increased pressure of the left side of her heart and why there is an increased drainage from her chest tubes. They find that there are occlusions and very high pressures on the left side. The blood is not flowing correctly and the doctors declared her inoperable. -
Inappropriate Family Bonding
Mom and Dad were both in the hospital room. According to my observations and the nurse's observations, the family is bonding inappropriately. Both parents do not interact with the baby. The mom makes the nurse do everything. During the time when the doctor's were taking the baby off to the Cath Lab, Dad never woke up and layed under a blanket that was over his head.
