Birth of the Brotherhood of Steel
Upon discovering POWs being used as test subjects by West-Tek scientists at Mariposa Military Base, Captain Roger Maxson and his men seize control of the base they were sent to defend, declaring full desertion from the US military. A few days later the bombs fall with Mariposa remaining largely unaffected. Maxson led his people in the Exodus to a bunker at Lost Hills, establishing the Brotherhood of Steel, an order of knights who hoard tech for the preservation and re-ascension of mankind. -
The Great War
After escalation of the Sino-American War, at 9:13 EST 23rd October 2077 IONDS detected the first missile launches from USOs. 13 minutes later, the US President ordered a retaliation strike, and all warring nations launched their nuclear arsenal. The war lasted 2 hours, erasing human civilisation and killing billions. The bombs scarred the Earth leaving vast irradiated wastelands for any survivors to inhabit. Some lived, many sheltering in great underground vaults built by Vault-Tec. -
Reclamation Day
Vault 76 in West Virginia opens its vault door for people to reclaim America and rebuild. -
Death of the Master
The Vault Dweller infiltrates the Cathedral and kills the Master of the Super Mutants, leader of the Unity, an organisation of Mutants who's aim is eradication of mankind through killing or conversion via the FEV virus. The Cathedral is destroyed in nuclear fire. -
Founding of the NCR
Several communities in California unite to form the New California Republic (NCR), comprised of 5 states, Shady Sands, Los Angeles, Maxson, the Hub and Dayglow. A nation built on old-world ideas of democracy and the rule of law, emulating pre-war America. Aradesh of Shady Sands is elected as its first president. -
Election of Dick Richardson
Richard 'Dick' Richardson, son of President Richardson is elected for his first of five terms as President of the United States of America by the Enclave due to pressure from his father. -
Enclave oil rig destroyed
The Chosen One enters the Enclave's oil rig using the damaged tanker and destroys the Poseidon oil platform, killing the president of the United States and ending the Enclave's plans for world domination. -
Founding of Caesar's Legion
2 Followers of the Apocalypse Edward Sallow and Bill Calhoun, travel east to study the dialects of various tribes around the Grand Canyon. Along the way they meet Joshua Graham, a Mormon missionary who acts as translator, joining them. Captured by the Blackfoot tribe, Sallow finds the failure of the Blackfoots in war disgusting and teaches them in total warfare, obliterating other tribes, and crowning himself Caesar, creating one great tribe, dedicated to martial excellence and slavery. -
Joanna Tibbett is elected
After the death of President Tandi at 103, Joanna Tibbett is sworn in as the next President of the NCR after serving as Tandi's vice-president -
Ranger Unification Treaty
Signed between the NCR and Desert Rangers of Arizona at Mojave Outpost, the Rangers were absorbed into Republic while overseeing the defence of the Mojave and Hoover Dam fell to the NCR. A monument was erected at Mojave Outspost to commemorate the event. -
Treaty of New Vegas
After newly-sworn in President Kimball orders the occupation of Hoover Dam, to restore it to working condition. NCR forces encounter Mr House, the mysterious overseer of New Vegas, the 3 Families and his army of robots. The 2 sign a treaty ensuring New Vegas' independence but seceding the surrounding lands including Hoover Dam to the NCR -
Operation Sunburst
NCR troops route the Mojave chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel from HELIOS One. Elder Elijah vanishes leaving a vacuum that Head Paladin Nolan McNamara fills. -
Creation of the Divide
The Courier delivers a package containing ICBM launch codes to Hopeville unknowingly. Nuclear warheads explode decimating Hopeville and Ashton and the surrounding lands, killing an emerging nation and disrupting NCR supply lines. The land that is scarred, burned and destroyed is named the Divide. -
Project Purity
The Lone Wanderer, working with the East Coast Brotherhood of Steel, thwarts the Enclave's plans, saving everyone in the Capital Wasteland by activating Project Purity allowing for mass water purification. -
First Battle of Hoover Dam
Legion forces under command of Joshua Graham, the Malpais Legate, begin their assault on NCR-held Hoover Dam. Caesar's Legion is almost victorious however thanks to the tactics of Ranger Chief Hanlon, the Legion is lured into a trap at Boulder City. Despite achieving victory, NCR cannot fully route the Legion and so they retreat back across the Colorado to regroup. Graham, blamed for the defeat, is covered in pitch, burned alive and thrown into the Grand Canyon -
Bitter Springs Massacre
Following the abduction and killing of four soldiers, NCR troops assault the Great Khans' settlement at Bitter Springs and massacre several dozen men, women, and children. The massacre entrenches a deep resentment towards NCR by the Great Khans -
Destruction of New Canaan
The Mormon tribe of New Canaan is destroyed by the White Legs tribe led by Frumentarius Ulysses, after petitioning Caesar for assimilation into the Legion. Caesar, angered by reports of Joshua Graham's survival orders New Canaan be sacked, and Graham's name forgotten, forever called 'the Burned Man'. The White Legs butcher men, women and children. -
Massacre at Nipton
Legionaries led by Vulpes Inculta, head of Caesar's Frumentarii, sadistically murder everyone in Nipton save 2 in a lottery. The winner goes free while the runner up is crippled. -
Battle of the 2 Couriers
Their long-awaited showdown arriving at last, Ulysses and Courier 6 settle their history beneath an ancient flag in the Divide, at the edge of the world. -
Second Battle of Hoover Dam
Calling in Legate Lanius the Monster of the East, Caesar's fiercest and most bloodthirsty commander, the Legion begins its assault on Hoover Dam once again, determined to eradicate the NCR, led by General Oliver, once and for all. The Courier leads his faction to victory and brings his road to an end, for now, in the new world of the Mojave wasteland, fighting continues, blood is spilled and many live and die, just as they had in the old world. Because war, war never changes.
