    On January 7,1927 Philo T. Farnsworth applied for his patent. This is considered the official date of the invention of the television, which he called “Image Dissector”. This set of television used a guided beam of electrons in a cathode ray tibe. The first TV produced an image formed of 60 lines of phosphor.

    First Wireless Remote Control
    The first remote control was called the "Zenith Flash-Matic".
    It used a beam of light aimed at one of the sensors on the four corners of the picture box. Now, people were able to turn on and off their TV, flip the channels and mute the TV using only the remote control.

There was an act passed which made it mandatory for all television sets to receive UHF signals (channels 14-83). This helped create a more variety of programs for the public to watch. Also during this decade over 600 million people watched the NASA moon landing with Neil Armstrong.
