    The jukebox was also known as the nickel-in-the-slot machine. This device was invented by Louis Glass and William S. Arnold in 1889. They improved Edison's invention by adding a coin mechanism. This machine was popular in public places.

    The CD player was invented by James T. Russell then licensed Phillips, later it was modified by Sony. The device had buttons such as play, pause, track forward, and reverse.

    The iPod classic was released by Apple. This was the first of Apple's personal music players. This music player could store up to 1000 songs.

    The iPod shuffle was the next type of music player released by Apple. This music player was meant to be small, it could store about 240 songs. The purpose of this music player was to play the music in a random order. Unlike the pervious player this one did not have a screen.

    The Nano was slightly bigger and heavier than the Shuffle. The difference was that the iPod Nano had a screen. The user used a click wheel to navigate the device similar to the Classic's scroll wheel. The capacity of this device was bigger than those before it.

    The iPod Touch was released by Apple. This was not just a music player, it did many other things. It browsed the internet, set alarm clocks, set reminders and many other things. This device had a capacity of 8GB, 16GB and later availible in 32GB.
