    In 1685, Zohann Zahn desgined the first camera. Not until about 200 years later that the first photo was actually taken. Exact date is unknown.
  • The Daguerreotype Camera

    The Daguerreotype Camera
    In 1839, a french artist named Louis Daguerre developed a process to print the image onto a shiny mirror, using chemicals. This was the first time in history for a photo to be stored and kept forever. Daguerre used his camera "The Daguerreotype" to receive a lifetime of pension by making it public. Exact date is unknown

    The Reise Camera
    The Reise camera was the first portable camera. Invented by German Reise in 1900, it would be the first camera to be folded into a light, small compact shape. Also, being that the rest of the camera's at the time were boxy and unattractive, the Reise camera had a new shape and feel to it. Exact date is unknown.

    The Leica I may look familiar to modern day cameras, that's because it was the first compact camera. With a 35mm lens and an aperture of f/3.5, the Leica I was the new modern day camera. Exact date unknown
  • Polaroid Model 95

    Polaroid Model 95
    As many cameras were being released on the shelves of customers, it became a house essential for everyone. The company "Polaroid" saw a problem, the problem was that is took about 15 minutes to create one photo. So Polaroid made the "Polaroid Model 95". With the Polaroid Type 95 a family or friend could take a photo and within a couple minutes the photo would be in your hands with a paper developed by Polaroid. Exact date is unknown

    Kodak Digital Camera
    In the year 1975, Kodak developed the first digital camera. It had a CCD sensor for light information and a tape recorder to hold the photograph. Later, in 1991,, the first digital camera was for sale, for $13,000. Exact date is unknown

    In 1986, Fuji released the Fuji Quicksnap. For only $4 the Quicksnap could take 27 photos and after that, well, it was a piece of plastic.

    In 2000, Sharp introduced the world with the J-SH04. The first phone to have a camera inside of it. The user could take a photo, the phone would process it, and it would show up on your digital screen instantly! This was the world's first phone to have a digital camera.

    In 2007, Apple released to iPhone. Not only that it was the first touchscreen and smart phone, but it had an amazing camera for its size. It delivered great photos in almost any lighting and displayed right on your phone screen.

    In 2008, GoPro released its first compact action camera for many events, including underwater. It was mainly for videoing and could shoot at 1080p.

    It's been a long time since 1685 and we have also come a long way in developing cameras. We love these machines because we get to video tape a special birthday and or take photos with friends that will stick with you forever.
