The Split
Rudolf decided to part from his brother and start his own company. Rudolf started the company which is now known as Puma. Adolf decided to change the name of the company using his nickname "Adi" and part of his last name which is known today as Adidas. Adi also created the three stripes trademark which was originally supposed to support the shoe but eventually became the registered trademark -
New Start
With the new beginning, Adi focused on producing new and improved soccer cleats that had adjustable, rubber studs. -
World Cup Champs
In the soccer World Cup in Switzerland, the German team won the title all wearing Adidas shoes. -
World Cup Domination
Adidas "dominates" the World cup in Chili. Adidas cleats were worn in all 32 games throughout the tournament -
