The Treaty of Versailles was written by the league of nations to prevent another war. They blamed Germany for causing the war, and forced them to give up their territory and pay for reparation. They also had to give up their military. This left Germany became unstable and economically struggling.

Adolf Hitler becomes the leader of the National Socialist (Nazi) Party.

Benito Mussolini

Jan 14, 1922

Benito Mussolini is appointed as the prime minister of Italy. He formed a fascist party and turned Italy to a fascist country.

Germany joins the League of Nations.

Germany joined the League of Nations, which was an international organization created after the First World War to resolve conflicts of other countries.

Rise of Hitler

Germany needed a leader who could get Germany out from the struggle. People thought Hitler would be the man who would save Germany. He became the leader and began to build his army. He broke the Treaty of Versailles.
