  • hitler becomes chancellor

    Hitler had always been known for his powerful speaking skills and his dominant leadership role. Because of this, President Hindenburg named him chancellor. This had people believe that Germany would improve with a new leader and all of the damages done by the Great Depression would become better.
  • usa passes the neutrality act

    According to Google, The Neutrality Act focused on hand held weapons sales to enemies, did not allow American ships from coming into war zones and restricted them from being armed, and blocked Americans from traveling on enemy ships. The US passed this act because they felt no need to be involved within the war.
  • germany violates the treaty of versailles

    Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles by reestablishing the draft. Since he thought Germany was better than everyone else, he ignored the Treaty to show that Germany should be treated superior to others. Rearming possibly means how they are prepared to fight or ready to go to war with anyone.
  • spanish civil war

    This was a war for Hitler to practice his army skills for wars in the future. He was able to become better friends with Italy (supporters of the civil war) by helping the Spanish. Because of this, the Spanish Civil War granted Hitler with many assets.
  • pact of steel is signed

    The Pact of Steel was signed by Italy and Germany and said how this agreement was based on an idea that there would be a war coming soon. Hitler, being the genius he was, became allies with Britain and France. However, they did not know that he was preparing to fight against them.
  • germany invades poland

    German forces attacked Poland on foot and in the air so that Hitler could regain control of land that he had once lost before. This was the last event that caused France, Britain, Australia, and New Zealand to propose a war against Poland.
