    Lexington and Concord
    The British learned that the colonists were hiding supplies of gunpowder and weapons near Concord. Hoping to catch them by surprise, the British went to Lexington on April 18. The sons of liberty saw them. Then, riders like Paul Revere rode around the contryside telling people "The British are Coming." When the Recoats reached Lexingon, 70 minutemen were waiting to fight. When the Britiah got to Concord, they found, instead of weapons, 300 minutemen. They were forced to retreat. #It'sOn

    First-Bunker Hill
    Near Boston, militiamen planned to strength the two hills overlooking Boston Harbor. When they set to work, the British moved in to attack on June 17. The British took both Bunker and Breed's Hill but lost 1,000 men. The colonists only had 500 casualties. #Let'sDoThis

    Turning Point-Saratoga
    British General Burgoyne and his troops were going to Albany, New York slowly because of the Americans trying to slow them down. Burgoyne recaptured Fort Ticonderoga, but was soon forced to surrender by American General Horatio Gates. This was the turning point because America proved they were worthy, that they were going to win. They also gained two allies, France and Spain, that day. #Winning

    The Articles of Confederation was the first constitution of America. This was a very weak central basis of government, where each state had more power than the country, and soon had to be replaced. Since they hated Britain, they were creating a government that didn't have what Britain had. #ReboundRelationship

    Low Point-Valley Forge
    Washington and his men went to Valley Forge to spend their winter. The men didn't have sufficient clothing for the cold and food and blankets that they needed. This was due to the Americans selling all their supplies to the British. By Comparison, Howe's men spent a comfortable winter. When news got around to the colonists about the conditions, people starting sending food and other supplies. #Cold

    Last-Yorktown
    Cornwallis moved his troops down to Yorktown, Virginia, where Washington set up a bid trap. 16,000 was the total of Washingtoon's men joined by some French troops. Completely surrounded, Cornwallis's only chance of leaving in safety with his troops was going to Chesapeake Bay and sailing off on the British ships but the French drove them out. After holding out for 3 weeks, Cornwallis surrendered. His defeat was the end of the war. #PeaceTalkTime

    Resolution-Treaty of Paris
    Representatives from Great Britain and America met to sign the Treaty of Paris of 1783. The Treaty gave the Americans all the their rights back, while giving them all the land they had claim to. The United States also gave back the property and rights of loyalists. The British declared America as it's own independent nation. But people died. Around 6,000 were killed during war, and about twice that amount were killed with camp diseases. #HighPriceOfFreedom
