    The Proclamation of 1763
    THe Proclamation of 1763 was when King George III decided to make a law where settlers in American could pass a certain line and live there. This was an important part leading up the Revolution because the colonists wanted to expand their land but the Kind held them back. Since the colonists wanted to expand their land, the only way to do that was by seperating from Britain and the war was how they were going to have to do that.

    The Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was an law that made the colonists pay an extreme amount of taxes for anything that required paper. The colonists were outraged by this and this gave them another reason to want to split from Britain and be able to have their own reasonable taxes for simple things like paper. It was important because the people saw that Britain was trying to get their money to help pay for the Seven Years War and they didn't want their money taken for Britain's fees and costs.

    Boston Massacre
    The British Massacre was when a group of colonists gathered around a building full of British soldiers and began to throw objects at them. This led to the soldiers firing shots at the colonists and leaving five dead. This was important because the colonists used this as a way to show people that the British were awful and that the colonies should seperate from Great Britain because they shot and killed five people.

    The Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party is when the Sons of Liberty were protesting on the extreme taxes that Britain was putting on things so they dumped a bunch of tea into the harbor. This event was important because the two sides (Britain and the 13 colonies) were coming closer to war. The colonists were furious and they wanted to have freedom and their own taxes!

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battle to start of the American Revolution. This battle was important to the American Revolution because it started the actual war and the colonists showed the British that they weren't going to give up their fight for Independence.
  • The Signing of the Declaration of Independence

    The Signing of the Declaration of Independence
    The Signing of the Declaration of Independence was when the delegates of the colonies signed a document stating that the colonies were free from Britain and to be their own country. This was important to the Revolutionary War because even though the colonists were offically free but the had a document saying that they were its own state. They were showing they were winning and there was no doubt the colonists would be their own state.
  • Surrender at Yorktown

    Surrender at Yorktown
    Surrender at Yorktown was when General Cornwallis took his troops to fight help British get off ships in a harbour at Yorktown. They Britsh never arrived. George Washington kept General Cornwallis and his troops surrounded in Yorktown until they ran out of supplies needed to survive. This caused Cornwallis to surrender. This was important because the British began to get weaker and the colonists started using allies for help. Britain could see that the colonists were strong and they surrendered.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris recognized American as a free independent state. The offical papers were signed in Paris and it also gave new land borders to the new American as well. This was important because it declared the end of the War and America as a free state, which is what the colonists wanted and we are now free from Britain.
