    Lexington and Concord (Spark)
    The first shots of the Revolutuion were fired by the Minutmen on the British, at Lexington,Massachusets. The British had sent 700 soldiers to destroy ammunition and guns stored in Concord. They were also after Samuel Adams and John Hancock. Paul Revere was sent to alert the Minutemen who fought the British Redcoats.Ater Lexington,word got to Concord and they stored away their supplies, but the British destroyed what they could. On the retreat the milita killed 273 Redcoats. #beginning

    The colonial militia found out that British troops were sent to occupy the hills surounding the city, during the seige of Boston. William Prescott and his troops prepared to fight and held off their attacks untill they ran out of ammunition. The British won but had many casualties. #bloody hills

    The british were trying to seige New York, and isolate New England.They were two battles, the Batttle of Freeman's Farm, and the Battle of Bennis Heights. The British were marching but were stopped by colonial forces. It took place on September 19, 1777. The patriots won this battle. They also defeated them at Benis Heights.     There wasn't a battle in Valley Forge, yet it was still the lowest point for the rebels. They stayed in Valley Forge for the winter. There was disease and lack of food, many people died. The weather got better but they had lost many people. When they got out they were determined to fight the british.
