    A meeting in Albany,New York between British colonial leaders and the Iroquois to form an alliance to fight the French the Iroquois refused to make an alliance because they feared that they would lose.

    Events leading to the Revolutionary War

    French and Indians vs British and the colonists and the Iroquois in North America fighting over the Ohio River valley in which the British beat the French therefore they had to give up all of there land.
  • The Treaty of Paris

    The treaty of Paris was signed in 1763 by Britain and France to force the loser to leave America and give all there land to the winner (Britain). France surrendered to Britain because they had lost a major city Quebec.

    Pontiac's War

    Pontiac's war is a war between the French the British and the Native american's to claim the Ohio river valley,at least two thousand settlers were killed it was short but deadly war nearly half a dozen British forts were destroyed and in the end there can only be one winner and that winner is Britain.
  • The Quartering Act

    This act passed under British rules purpose was to make money and it required Colonists to house British troops and supply them with food and other types of goods this of course angered the Colonists.The Colonists also had to pay for the supplies and food that they were giving to the British troops.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The British wanted to prevent further wars therefore they issued the Proclamation of 1763 which drew a line that defined the thirteen colonies,this angered many colonists because they weren't allowed to settle on the land they'd just won.

    This is the British effort to impose new taxes on Colonists such as import taxes on products like molasses this angered the colonists and caused protests,there was also harsh punishment for smugglers.
  • The Stamp Act

    This act passed under British rule in the thirteen colonies required Colonists two purchase stamps for every single document they bought.Nine delegates from the colonies met in New York to send a petition the end of the sugar act .This act also angered the colonists and forced them to boycott the act until it was revoked.
  • The Boston Massacre

    An encounter with British troops and Colonists in Boston,the colonists were angry because of the acts and taxes that Britain had forced on the colonies so they started attacking the troops with rocks and the troops fired on the Colonists in return killing five and injuring six this sparked an outrage in the colonies which lead us to the revolutionary war.
  • Tea Act

    The Tea Act was intended to help the British East India Company but it only hurt it because the colonists hated the fact that the Company was a British monopoly. This was intended to catch the eye of many colonists because of the low prices but this just lead to later events like the Boston tea party.
  • Boston Tea Party

    A group of Colonists called the Sons of Liberty boarded a tea ship dressed as Native Americans and threw ninety thousand pounds of tea into the Boston harbor causing millions of dollars worth of damage.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The Boston tea party infuriated the British government which lead Parliament to pass laws to enforce many other acts one law even shut down the Boston harbor and enforced the Quartering Act. This made tension levels rise in New York leading to the Continental Congress.
  • First Continental Congress

    A meeting between delegates in Philadelphia about the Intolerable Act and why it should be repealed and they declared that the Colonies have the right to tax themselves.It also called for the training of militias to stand up to the British.
  • The Battles of Lexington and Concord

    Battles between the British and the militias of Lexington and Concord where the British try to seize a weapons stash in Concord to put a stop to this rebellion.Once they got to Concord the Colonists attacked the British and took out a third of there troops.
  • The Second Continental Congress

    The second Continental congress came together in Philadelphia during a time of crisis to build a militia to defend against the British,they chose George Washington to be the commander of the Continental army.
  • The Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    The Green Mountain Boys were going to take fort Ticonderoga by surprise, fort Ticonderoga was essential for the Colonists because it held dozens of cannons which could be used in other battles such as the taking of Boston harbor.The Green mountain boys forcefully made the British surrender.
  • The Olive Branch Petition

    The Olive Branch Petition was sent to the King and it was to resolve all between Colonists and the British. King George never bothered to answer the Olive Branch Petition and instead sent twenty thousand troops to America.
  • Battles of Bunker and Breeds Hill

    This is a battle between the British and the Colonists over the control of Bunker and Breeds Hill.Because these were vital to the Americans they held these hills until they ran out of ammo and had to retreat,These hills are so important because there perfect for lobbing cannon fire on Boston.The British force the colonists to retreat because they ran out of ammo.

    Two American armies had to trek through Canada to get to Quebec to preform an attack on the British.However the British did eventually drive the American forces out of Quebec.
  • The British Withdraw from Boston

    The British fled from Boston in 1776 because they could not hold Boston because of the constant attacks from the hills surrounding Boston and other smaller battles inside the city with the Americans.
